Priyanka Das is a research scholar at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi in the Centre for Sensors, Instrumentation and Cyber Physical System Engineering SeNSE (formerly IDDC). She is working on Data and Decision Sciences for Infrared Imaging in the field of Non-Destructive Testing and Evaluation (NDT&E) under the guidance of Dr. Ravibabu Mulaveesala
She is an Electrical Engineer and received a Master in Technology (MTech) in Sensor Technology from Defence Institute of Advanced Technology (DIAT-DU) in 2021. During her course of learning, some of the major courses that she studied were Fibre Optic Sensors, Wireless Sensor Networks, Nanotechnology for advanced Sensors and Machine Learning for Sensor Data Analytics.
As an interdisciplinary researcher, her work focuses on principles from signal processing and communication, including pulse compression, wavelet transforms, and dimensionality reduction techniques, to enhance the interpretability of spatiotemporal thermal imaging data. She is developing novel signal and image post-processing algorithms for automated defect detection by integrating machine learning models for making NDT&E systems intelligent and autonomous.
Some special research interests include: 1) Human and Machine Speech Communication 2) Industrial Automation and Predictive Maintenance.
